The
Sitting
BABIES:
All baby photo shoots include at least two visits. First,
we set up a good time for the sitting. I recommend the
time with two criteria in mind: the best time for light
in your place, and the best time for you or your child
or children, i.e. after a nap time. I encourage you
make as many costume changes as you want, and to include
as many other family members and/or pets as you wish.
I don't set a time limit on shoots, but they typically
last about an hour. I shoot three rolls of black and
white film with a 35mm SLR camera (NOT DIGITAL). The
second visit takes place about three weeks after the
first sitting. I come back with a set of complete prints
and an album, and we discuss which photos you would
like enlarged and framed.
PREGNANCY: I like to photograph the expectant mom in
any way she feels comfortable and with as many family
members as she chooses. These sessions are always fun,
creative, and very relaxed. I promise! The sitting usually
lasts between one and two hours with two rolls of black
and white film shot. For pregnancy sittings I recommend
choosing comfortable clothes and underclothes in medium
to dark tones. If you wish to have a few semi-nude or
nude poses, please don't wear underwear, bra, or socks
at least an hour prior to our session. I also bring
several silk wraps that we can drape you in. I will
come back when you decide when you want your little
one photographed. I know it's difficult to decide when
to have these shots taken: newborn, six weeks, five
months... It is entirely up to you. Each stage is precious
and has it's own unique personality.
